Julia Talarick is Of Counsel to the Firm of Coughlin Duffy LLP. She is engaged primarily in commercial litigation including complex contract and insurance matters. She counsels insurers and has represented insurers in both state and federal courts on a variety of insurance issues and policies. She has defended insureds in a wide variety of cases including general negligence, product liability, construction defect, employment, pharmaceutical malpractice, truck stop liability/cargo loss, mold and underground storage tank claims. This work includes all phases of trial work including trial and appellate practice.
Ms. Talarick has successfully represented parties in obtaining additional insured coverage, including recovery of counsel fees and costs. She is currently representing insurers in connection with coverage disputes arising out of asbestos and welding rod litigation and continues to counsel and represent insurers on additional insured claims, the applicability of general liability coverage in construction defect claims, the applicability of the pollution exclusion in a variety of environmental claims, the reporting requirements under claims-made policies, the negotiation of defense cost sharing agreements, the relationship between global/master policies and domestic policies and commercial and truckers auto claims.
Ms. Talarick graduated from Kean University cum laude in 1985. She received her JD cum laude in 1997 from Seton Hall University. Ms. Talarick received an award for Outstanding Student Practitioner Center for Social Justice, Housing Law and was a contracts tutor for first year law students.
